Job description:
SS Lift, LLC is a small, family oriented company. As an award-winning material handling equipment dealer, SS Lift has been serving Oklahoma since 2013.
SS Lift is looking for a dedicated and positive individual to become our preventative maintenance (PM) service writer. Previous experience is required.
Service Writer Job Duties:
Advises customers about unit history and necessary service and value of maintaining units in accordance with manufacturers specifications.
Confers with customers about their equipment, recommend corrective procedures, and coordinates with service for needed repairs.
Prepares accurate estimates showing parts and labor for service. When approved, turn estimate into work order.
Explains the work performed and the charges to the customer.
Schedules service appointments. Obtains accurate customer and unit data.
Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner.
Establishes customer's method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary.
Checks on progress and results of service and contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail; gets proper authorization for parts.
Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
Attends company training as required.
Maintains a professional appearance.
Keeps work area clean.
Monitors phones for technician and customer calls.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role, such as automotive service writer or dealership service advisor, is preferred
Knowledge of service and repair processes
Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate with customers
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficient computer skills for creating service orders and estimates
Please note this position requires sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
