SS Medical, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Service Coordinator to join our team. The Service Coordinator manages the scheduling and billing of home medical equipment (HME) and oxygen therapy services, ensuring seamless coordination between VA prosthetics, respiratory teams, patients, and internal staff. Reporting to the branch manager and finance department, this role is essential to delivering timely and accurate services from order placement to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Coordination & Scheduling
- Schedule home visits for the delivery, setup, and maintenance of HME and home oxygen.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to verify required documentation, prescriptions, and approvals.
- Collaborate with the branch manager, respiratory therapist, and delivery team to optimize routes for time patient care.
Patient Communication & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, explaining equipment setup, service schedules, and processes.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of patient info, service requests, equipment inventory, and delivery schedules in compliance with company policy and procedure
- Assist in preparing reports for audits, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the branch manager, finance department, and other internal teams to ensure smooth service operations.
- Coordinate routes and deliveries for both HME and home oxygen services, ensuring efficiency in task assignments.
Issue Resolution & Process Improvement:
- Address issues related to equipment availability, delivery delays, and patient concerns, working with the branch manager to resolve them swiftly.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance coordination and delivery efficiency.
Billing & Documentation of HME & Home Oxygen:
- Work with the billing department to ensure all HME and home oxygen services are properly documented and billed.
- Maintain compliance with VA guidelines, ensuring meticulous documentation of all service interactions.
- Regularly review and audit service documentation to ensure accuracy prior to billing and regulatory submission.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in healthcare coordination, home health, respiratory therapy, or medical equipment services.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care.
- Proficient in EHR systems and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of home medical and oxygen equipment is highly desirable.
