Business Systems Analyst - API Governance

Role Overview:
As a Business Systems Analyst in our API Governance team, you will play a pivotal role in collecting, cataloging, and ranking all APIs used within the organization. You will work closely with application owners to ensure API compliance with governance rules, provide insightful metric reports to management, and contribute to the development of a centralized API inventory system. Your work will directly impact our ability to effectively manage and secure its API ecosystem.
Impact/Function:
- Establish and maintain a central repository for API inventory, including classification, ownership, and rating.
- Monitor API compliance with governance rules and identify areas for improvement.
- Generate and deliver monthly reports to upper management, providing clear insights into API compliance and overall health.
- Collaborate with application owners to develop and implement plans to achieve API compliance.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of API governance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with application owners of APIs to develop and implement compliance plans.
- Generate monthly reports on API compliance and overall inventory.
- Establish and maintain a central repository for API inventory.
- Classify, rate, and document API ownership.
- Utilize API management platforms (Apigee, DataPower) for inventory and governance tasks.
- Utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in API governance and management.
- 2-4 years of experience working with Apigee API Gateway and IBM DataPower.
- 2-4 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- 2-4 years of experience establishing API inventory systems.
- 2-4 years of experience with SharePoint.
- Strong understanding of API platforms and technologies.
- Ability to establish a central repository for API inventory.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
