Operations Specialist II

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the shipping of various materials including drug substances, raw materials, intermediates, drug products, and medical devices to support our client’s R&D activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners, attending weekly meetings with vendors, and providing updates on shipment status.
• Ensure shipments are temperature controlled, selecting appropriate transportation methods, and monitoring temperature logs.
• Work with shipping brokers and CMOs to schedule pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring shipments arrive quickly and during dock hours.
• Ensure trade compliance, working with legal teams to draft documents and apply for necessary export licenses and import permits.
• Manage warehouse accounts and inventory, creating new material codes, and monitoring safety stock levels.

Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of work experience, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of laws regarding material hazard classifications.
• Ability to determine appropriate methods of transportation based on transport route and hazard class.
• Experience with warehouse account management and inventory management.
• Proficiency in Excel for creating charts/metrics.
• Flexibility to attend meetings outside of typical work hours to accommodate suppliers in other time zones.
