Title: Senior Associate Scientist
Location: Warren, NJ
Duration: 12 months with possible extension
Position Summary
Working within Cell Therapy Development Organization (CTDO) the candidate will be part of the Integrated Attribute Sciences group, part of CTAD (Cell Therapy Analytical Development function) based in Warren, NJ and will contribute to the pre-IND and clinical laboratory component of Ph1/2 and late-stage (pivotal) studies.
Key responsibilities of this role include bench laboratory support of asset programs through experiment execution in order to support mechanism of action-based studies, characterization of starting, intermediate, and drug product materials, assist in fit-for-purpose assay development and execution, and support investigations to support product knowledge and pipeline assets characterization for CAR T programs.
The incumbent will report to the Senior Principal Scientist and/or functional program leads and work along other scientists to complete pipeline development projects within the Client Cell Therapy Development Division.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in the in the Life Sciences or Engineering field (biology, immunology, cell biology, engineering, chemistry, or related field) is required.
Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of current or previous academic and/or industry laboratory bench level experience in product development of CAR-based cell therapies or related field.
Master’s Degree with 2 years of current or previous academic and/or industry bench level experience in product development of CAr-based cell therapies or related field.
Experience in handling and maintaining primary cell culture and mammalian cell lines.
Basic scientific background in understanding and performing cell-based assays and technology readouts.
Experience with standard in-vitro assays, assay development, assay optimization, and troubleshooting.
Good verbal and written communication skills with some experience writing internal documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience in CAR T cell therapy preferred.
Basic technical understanding of CAR T cell analytical methods and evolving technologies
Firsthand experience with cellular biology techniques and cell-based assays, including but not limited to flow cytometry, Incucyte, MSD/ELISA based assays, sterile technique, metabolic assays.
Ability to work within established protocols and, when necessary, optimize methods and protocols.
Basic understanding of drug development process in an industry setting with clear examples of success.
Basic understanding of early, late-stage, and commercial drug development process.
