Responsibilities and Requirements
- Care and Support: Provide individualized nursing care to patients undergoing surgery, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the procedure.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
- Surgical Teamwork: Assist surgeons with tasks such as preparing patients, handling instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Nursing Skills and Knowledge: Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Requirements: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent education for licensure.
- Experience: No experience required; however, previous experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Constant Use: Speech, standing, and walking.
- Frequent Use: Lifting/carrying objects weighing 0-25 lbs., sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional Use: Lifting/carrying objects weighing 25-50 lbs., occasional lifting/moving patients, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements, and driving.
Licenses and Certifications
- State Licenses: Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licenses from Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
