Job Description :
The Senior Mine Engineer will provide support (technical, management and business expertise) for all levels of mine studies, projects, and operations through the generation and / or review of Mineral Reserves, mine plans (scheduling, design, and economic analysis), growth studies, and other activities required by the Director, Mine Technical Services.
Within the company, the Senior Mine Engineer will form strong relationships with site technical teams and members of the Technical, Project, and Finance groups within the Corporate Denver office to strategize and optimize output from our portfolio of operations and projects. While the role is primarily focused on open-pit mining methods, assistance with underground projects may be required as needed.
The Day to Day :
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership in all aspects of the role.
- Assist with and review the generation of the annual Corporate Mine Technical Services Budget.
- Assist with and prepare long-term strategic and district master plan options including mine physicals, metal production, and financial / economic analysis.
- Peer review with sites the various engineering aspects of mine design, planning and scheduling (optimizing pit, phase and waste dump designs, haulage, drill and blast, equipment fleet selection and utilization, geotechnical, hydrogeological).
- Assist in the preparation of the annual Mineral Reserve Reports (i.e. review of cut-off grade, modifying factors, pit optimization parameters)
- Apply continuous improvement and innovation to mine design and planning.
- Support multi-disciplinary teams in the development of conceptual, pre-feasibility, feasibility, implementation, reclamation, tradeoff and closure studies for all current and future mining projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (geology, metallurgy, innovation, and water management teams) to integrate mine planning with overall project development.
- Participate in M&A due diligence teams as required.
- Keep up to date on innovation and technology trends and recommend and implement where there may be a good fit in the business.
- Act as peer review on all engineering functions, participate in development and / or conduct a program of audits.
- Support site technical teams in all aspects of mine engineering as required.

For applicants residing in CO, the salary range for this role is from $115-$135,000. Benefits : 401(k); medical / dental / vision insurance; employee share purchase plan, PTO, and STI.
