Job Description
The Study Manager will be responsible for managing study works required to advance advance opportunities through the Growth and Innovation Groups Project Pipeline. Reporting to the Director Studies, the focus of this role will be to advance the development of various studies ranging from scoping to pre-feasibility, and feasibility. This will also include the management of the compilation of Technical Report Summaries to support regulatory filings associated with the NI 43-101 and SK-1300 requirements.
This position will be responsible for managing and leading cross functional technical teams. In conjunction with Exploration, Technical Services, and the site-based Operations Team, the Study Manager will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, budget and AFE’s required to execute the study works.

Job Description
The Study Manager will be responsible for managing study works required to advance advance opportunities through the Growth and Innovation Groups Project Pipeline. Reporting to the Director Studies, the focus of this role will be to advance the development of various studies ranging from scoping to pre-feasibility, and feasibility. This position will be responsible for managing and leading cross functional technical teams. In conjunction with Exploration, Technical Services, and the site-based Operations Team, the Study Manager will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, budget and AFE’s required to execute the study works.
- Work closely with the exploration team to ensure that the collection of field data is integrated into the exploration team’s execution plan.
- Ensure the site-based Operations Team is engaged in the development of the study scopes and participates in providing critical input data, key decision making and timely reviews of study deliverables.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the G&I Team strategy and annual budget development.
- Work closely with the Finance Group to develop financial metrics for each investment opportunity.
- Actively participate in developing and implementing the companies Project and Study Standards.
- Lead and manage various cross functional studies including team members from exploration, technical services, operations, projects and finance.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of variuos studies.
- Create and execute study work plans; revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Prepare study reports for executive review, including project viability, risk profile and execution options.
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
- Review deliverables prepared by study team.
- Lead, manage and oversee study budgets and schedules.
- Produce regular status updates of the study.
- Ensure that study employees and contractors achieve deliverables consistent with SSR standards, policies and business philosophy.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
- 10 years experience in operations or engineering, as well as a minimum five years’ experience in a management role on studies or projects
- Construction experience would be considered a significant asset.
- 3 - 5 years of experience managing professional staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe, sustainable work practices is essential.
- The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, as well as strong business and technical writing skills.
- The ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills are important.
- A working knowledge of Exploration, Permitting, Technical Services functions, EPCM, Economic Modeling, Operations, OPEX and CAPEX estimation.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Able to be cross-disciplined and work comfortably with other cultures.
