Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the PLM Configuration Manager at SSW Advanced Technologies, LLC, is to plan, coordinate, and execute activities within the Windchill PLM system, collaborating closely with various functions, including Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.
You will actively contribute to the enhancement of Configuration Management processes by aligning with business process owners. This includes writing and updating foundational rules and definitions, procedures, and supporting documentation to establish solid standards that team members can consistently rely on and follow.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of PLM systems, with a strong preference for Windchill. Both user and administrative experience in PLM are essential. A proficient understanding of PLM, Change Management, Part Management, BOM Management, PDM Link, Document Management, and Configuration Management is crucial. You will also train team members and drive decisions that promote efficient and effective Configuration Management practices.
You will work alongside Configuration Engineers and Mechanical Engineers, who will handle content and practical implementation in the Windchill system. Your focus will primarily be on documentation-related changes rather than technical aspects.
Key Activities Include:
- Writing procedures, how-to guides, and other supportive documentation (guidelines, templates) to assist team members in using Windchill effectively.
- Advising, instructing, and training Windchill users to ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
- Initiating and implementing process improvement activities related to Technical Product Development (TPD).
- Contributing to the functional knowledge base to enhance overall team capabilities.
- Participating in the functional continuous improvement plan.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the Configuration Management process supports the creation of a complete and consistent retention of the how and a clear SOP trail by others.
- Ensure that mechanical documents and deliverables are generated in accordance with SSW Quality standards.
- Serve as a consulting partner for engineering regarding documentation requirements.
Authorities:
- Escalate issues when trade-offs or TPD are identified as unacceptable for the function or non-compliant with SSW Quality standards.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred
Experience:
- Proven experience as a key user in Windchill.
- Experience in writing procedures and manuals in English.
- Experience in Configuration Management practices.
- Familiarity with PTC Creo is preferred.
- CMII Certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP/SAP systems is a plus.
- Previous experience implementing a PLM system within an organization is preferred
