The Team Lead will work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. May participate in making management decisions affecting the work. Includes team leaders who work as part of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with Company policies.
- Directs the work of employees performing job functions in the department
- Responsible for training new employees as well as evaluating and retraining present employees in job classifications under his or her direction
- Interact in a professional manner with other employees/customers.
- Work overtime as necessary.
- Must know and be able to perform the work of any job classification under his/her direction.
- Responsible for process records and production of the job function he/she directs.
- Responsible for line speeds, efficiencies, housekeeping, work area layouts, tact boards being filled out, etc.
- Must be able to start, shut down, operate and control equipment in the Department, and frequently check their operation.
- Must be able to perform periodic work such as cleaning, making up cleaners and other solutions, and housekeeping.
- May fill the classification of Team Member. Relieves employees in said department. Assists as needed to maintain quality, production rates, and utilization.
- Report problems/issues to Department Supervisor
- Checks quality of work and product being produced. Responsible for producing parts to quality standards. Abides by Company safety rules and policies. Responsible for monitoring those employees under his/her direction to see that they perform their work in accordance with Conduct, Safety & Quality rules and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Help out as a regular production team member as needed from time to time.
Position Supervised or Directed:
Supervised.
Qualifications, Experience requirements:
- Must have experience and a working knowledge of the product.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must have knowledge of the current Bargaining Agreement and Company Policies.
- Must be punctual and dependable with an excellent attendance record.
- Must be computer literate.
- Ability to attain a certified forklift license preferred.
General Requirements:
- Able to travel to other divisions when required.
- Detailed and hands-on oriented.
Working Conditions:
- Office and manufacturing plant environment.
- Requires physical ability, which may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate controlled for long periods.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes.
