Description
We are seeking a responsible and attentive lifeguard to ensure the safety of our members at the YMCA. The lifeguard will be responsible for monitoring activities in the water and on the pool deck for the safety of members and families. Additionally, the lifeguard will enforce facility policies, provide emergency care as needed, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
Responsibilities:

Supervise and ensure the safety of individuals in and around the pool/waterfront area. Enforce all rules and regulations to prevent accidents.

Respond quickly and effectively to all emergency situations. Provide first aid and CPR as necessary. Be prepared to respond to emergencies in a calm and professional manner.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and surrounding facilities.

Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.

Swim lessons will have a high level of supervision and focus on safety.

Be familiar with all information and answer questions about programs, schedules, policies or direct people to Aquatic Management.

Qualifications

Current Certifications:
-
Current Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR Certification preferred (courses offered through YMCA if not already obtained)

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

Previous lifeguarding experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
-
Must be able to demonstrate swimming proficiency and endurance.
-
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, swim and talk and hear.

Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Salary : $17 - $22
