Job Description:
St. Andrew’s School seeks a full-time graphic designer and videographer to serve as the primary designer and/or project manager for the school’s print, digital, and video communications. Reporting to the director of communications, the graphic designer works in collaboration with the rest of the communications team, and stakeholders across campus to execute creative work that supports the school’s overall communications strategy.

The graphic designer is responsible for maintaining and enforcing the school’s brand standards, and for ensuring there is consistency of design across all publications, projects, and materials. The designer will be expected to stay abreast of new technologies, applications, and channels that might impact how and where St. Andrew’s chooses to communicate its story.
Responsibilities:
- Design the St. Andrew’s Magazine (two issues annually) and the State of the School (one issue annually).
- Design and lay out the school’s admissions viewbook annually, design a custom “accept box” and its contents each year, and design other print and digital admissions collateral. Such projects include brochures, postcards, flyers, marketing emails, microsites, and other items as needed.
- Design and manage production of print and digital collateral in support of fundraising, development, and alumni and parent relations. Such projects include but are not limited to booklets, brochures, postcards, folders and stationery, email campaigns, social media campaigns, and microsites.
- In collaboration with the director of athletics, stewards the school’s athletic brand identity, approves ongoing athletics uniform and team gear designs, and executes graphic design projects for athletics facilities as needed (e.g. wall decals, banners, etc).
- Provide graphic design services as needed across the school. Such projects may include but are not limited to: course selection guide, directories, the “Story of Us” book, school Christmas card, PowerPoint/Slides presentations, photo slideshows, animations, email headers, and infographics.
- In collaboration with the School Store manager, approves School Store merchandise designs and designs items as needed for the Store.
- In collaboration with the event coordinator, reviews and approves event communications designs, and provides some design assistance as needed.
- Manage the school’s graphic identity and brand awareness by vetting all departments’ and campus groups’ use of logos/messages. Aids in the design of acceptable logos, t-shirts, etc.
- Create short videos for social media and the web as needed.
- Manage the production process of all print materials.
- Manage the Communication Team’s photo and video asset library.
- Contribute to Communications Team “all-hands” work as needed. Such tasks may include but are not limited to event live streaming, managing the Communications email inbox, taking student ID photos, proofreading copy, etc.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a strong eye for visual composition.
- Have effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple creative projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. This position requires the ability to collaborate with a wide range of campus constituents, including faculty, staff, and students; writers, designers, and event coordinators. The ability to collaborate and cooperate with others, and to receive constructive criticism, and incorporate feedback from others, are essential skills for this position.
- Have the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration skills are a must.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate’s degree with commensurate experience in graphic design required.
- Design portfolio required with application.
- Minimum of five years of experience in graphic design and videography.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Adobe Rush and/or Premiere Pro required with demonstrated experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.) with demonstrated experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
