Role/Title: Lead Technologist, Ultrasound Department
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift
Job Summary:
The Lead Ultrasound Technologist assists the Director, Manager and Supervisor with day-to-day supervision and coordination of assigned section personnel within the Radiology Ultrasound Department.
Responsibilities:
- Performs Ultrasound exams per department protocol.
- Performs the quality control functions related to Ultrasound.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and healthcare regulations.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care.
- In collaboration with the Medical Imaging Supervisor, assign work schedules, monitors attendance, and ensure adequate staffing levels for the Ultrasound Department.
- Inventories departmental supplies and keeps stock to appropriate par levels.
- In collaboration with Medical Imaging Supervisor & Imaging Manager, maintains employee files.
- Onboards new staff members and provides continuing education opportunities. This includes routine image critique on Teams work for educational support and interventions to maintain quality and standard of care.
- Serve as a liaison between staff, patients, families, and hospital administration.
- Addresses patient concerns and improves service delivery.
- Promotes a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensures proper maintenance and functionality of Ultrasound equipment.
- Collaborates effectively with Imaging Director, Imaging Manager, Imaging Supervisor, & Radiology Chair
- Contributes updates to Ultrasound Imaging Policies, Workflows, and Protocols in collaboration with Medical Imaging Supervisor, Imaging Manager, Imaging Director, & Radiology Chair.
Work Experience:
- 5 years’ experience as an Ultrasound Tech
- 1 years of leadership experience- preferred
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Knowledge and skillset to perform all exams (within the scope of an Ultrasound Technologist) on patients from the age of newborn to geriatric.
- Successful completion of an approved Ultrasound program
- ARDMS- required
- Bachelor’s degree- preferred
- Comprehension of cross-sectional anatomy & physics of Ultrasound theory
- BLS- required
