Position Summary: The Center Custodian, under the supervision of the Director Center, performs custodial tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for students and families.
Position Type: Hourly / Non-Exempt,
Schedule: Part-Time (4 hours per day / 20 hours per week)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Contributes to the overall environment of St. Benedict Center through maintaining buildings and grounds in top condition through cleaning.
2. Performs daily cleaning of the central hallway, kitchen, and classrooms, including sanitizing bathrooms and trash disposal.
3. Performs weekly cleaning of the shared spaces and storage areas.
4. Routinely deep cleans classrooms and kitchen equipment on a rotating schedule so that each of 10 classrooms is deep cleaned every 40 days.
5. All other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Pleasant demeanor and the ability to have professional conversations with staff and vendors.
- Ability to initiate and complete work orders.
- Ability to judge standards set by management for job completeness.
- Ability to follow specific directions through to completion.
- Must meet requirements of city and state licensing agencies (TB Skin test).
- Maintain a valid driver’s license or have reliable transportation to/from work.
- Successfully pass any required pre-employment background screening, including any required drug test
Special Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
Physical Demands, Work Environment, Machines, Tools & Equipment: The characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by the Administrative Assistant to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Physical Demands & Effort: Position may require moderate amount of lifting, carrying items, bending and stretching. Regular requirement, and as needed, to lift up to 50 lbs., including bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing and pulling, and sitting and walking while working indoors or outdoors.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced, safety-focused classroom environment. Noise level can be moderate to loud within center. Require to engaged in indoor and outdoor activities, dependent on weather.
- Machines, Tools & Equipment: Requires theuse and operation of basic cleaning tools and supplies.8. Additional duties as assigned.
