Position Overview:
Provides program leadership, manages operations, and supervises all assigned aspects of the agency’s prevention programs, including a team of prevention staff. As a member of the Prevention leadership team, shares responsibility for daily operations of the department, and works under the supervision and leadership of the Director of Prevention Services.

Position Specifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience required.
- Experience in supervision and direct practice.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team member, while setting a precedent as a leader.
- Clean and valid NYS driver’s license.
- Understanding of developmental disabilities as well as mental health and substance abuse difficulties; Experience working with families facing such issues.
- Knowledge of community resources and how to access them to eliminate social barriers.
- Proficiency in various computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Business Suite, and the Internet; Experience with AWARDS a plus!
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment.
- Ability to pass required pre-employment background checks.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise staff of assigned Prevention team.
- Hold regular supervision (1:1) and group meetings to support prevention personnel.
- Monitor paperwork necessary for the programs, with a focus on documentation quality.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels within assigned team.
- Advocate for the programs and clients with community agencies, landlords, ACDCYF, Social Security, etc.
- Team-lead conferences for families in assigned team.
- Cover caseload responsibilities when program is short staffed
- Promote interdependency across the agency’s service areas, including direct collaboration with other community-, homeless- and health-based services, to ensure that the programs are interlinked in the support provided to children and families.
- In conjunction with the Training Manager, ensure the provision of orientation and on-going training for staff; ensure that staff members actively participate in all required trainings.
- Ensure adequate level of service provision for each family in all assigned team/caseload.
- As a member of the Prevention Team, share responsibility for oversight of the department’s daily operations and meet regularly with the team.
- Participate in monthly Quality Assurance meetings with the Quality Improvement Department.
- Participate in management leadership meetings, as called upon.
- Serve on community committees, as requested by the Director.
- In conjunction with the management team, participate in the development and accomplishment of the agency’s Strategic Plan.
- Participate in the agency’s Residential QRTP Aftercare Committee.
- Take an active leadership role in the agency’s design of residential aftercare, with an end-goal of a proven, successful aftercare paradigm. Provide training sessions several times a year for the agency’s residential case managers
- - to increase their skillset in employing the prevention model of family support directly in the aftercare realm.
- Provide ongoing support for the agency’s residential case managers, to problem-solve aftercare and family concerns
- Assist with coverage of Residential Aftercare cases when program is short staffed
- Engage in the agency’s ongoing strategic efforts to respond to State expectations linked to Family First Prevention Services legislation and aftercare.
- Take on additional position-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Prevention Services.
