The Academic Advising department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Academic Advisor. This position provides holistic advising through guiding students' academic planning and providing ongoing support. This position specializes in working with post-traditional students, fostering a welcoming and empowering environment that recognizes adult students' unique experiences, strengths, and academic and career goals.
Responsibilities Include :
- Academic Planning and Course Registration Assistance
Assist students with degree requirements, major requirements, and scheduling of classes.
Counsel students experiencing academic difficulty and make referrals to the appropriate support offices, documenting these interactions in the University's retention software.
Academic Advisors are assigned a special project based on the particular student population they serve, the needs of the University, and the advisor's skillset and interests. Currently, this position will facilitate Credit for Prior and Alternative Learning (CPAL). The advisor will connect students with faculty who will determine eligibility for the portfolio-based CPAL process.
Salary Range : $42,000 - $45,000
