Saint Charles Borromeo Academy is seeking a part time Extended Care Coordinator for our extended care program. This position is responsible for program planning and implementation and supervising a staff of one or more aides. The coordinator position reports to the Principal.
Partnering with parents in their role as primary educators, Saint Charles Borromeo Academy extends the mission of the Church in forming true disciples of Jesus Christ. Through a Catholic Classic Liberal Arts education centered on Christ, we provide an integrated approach fostering a love for truth, beauty, and goodness. We seek to instill a natural desire for wisdom and virtue in all students.
Requirements
Responsibilities include:
- Create the schedule for employees for summer and before and after school care programs to be in ratio with scholar/teacher expectations.
- During the summer, plan activities for the scholars to participate in.
- Manage scholar behavior with following the school’s plan.
- Work closely with the school administration.
- Communicate with the scholars families on Extended Care happenings.
- Attend training sessions.
- Oversee the staff of the extended care.
- Maintain high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.
- See that the virtues of the Catholic Faith permeate the playrooms and recess activities.
Qualifications
- CPR trained.
- Participate in and complete required training through professional development opportunities.
- Demonstrate professionalism, including confidentiality, when working with administration, staff, parents and children, while promoting positive relationships and effectively communicating with others.
- Manage and set high behavior standards within the classroom and building.
- Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher/caregiver of young children.
- Experience working with ages 3 years and above necessary.
