About the Role
We invite qualified candidates to apply for our Part-time Faculty Welding Instructor position in the Workforce Readiness Department. As a part-time appointment, this role is made on a semester-by-semester basis as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Excellence: Deliver comprehensive welding instruction, develop and update curriculum materials to align with industry standards, and ensure a safe learning environment reflective of industry standards.
- Evaluation and Feedback: Assess and evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and support improvement.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the welding program, stay current with industry trends, technologies, and safety standards, and participate in departmental meetings, faculty development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience as a welder or welding instructor/trainer in an industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of welding, cutting, and fabrication, manufacturing, blueprint reading, NDT procedures, GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and American Welding Society criteria.
Preferred Qualification
An American Welding Society certification is preferred.
