Job Summary - About the Role
Deliver high quality recreation services for residents, visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the District's safety and administrative policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
This position is well suited for someone with a friendly and positive personality who is productive and shows initiative, is an effective written and oral communicator, is reliable and safety-minded and works well with children.
Required : Must be a minimum of 16 years of age. A minimum of 2 years of high school experience. Have previous experience with face-to-face program delivery. Have an understanding of children's developmental skills and abilities. Maintain First Aid / CPR / AED certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Maintain DCFS mandated reporter certificate or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Schedules per Camp Assigment :
- Day Camp : 5-day schedule, Monday-Friday, availability from 7 : 45am-3 : 45pm with scheduled after camp shifts as needed (until 6pm).

Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation, the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation, and the Recreation Supervisor of Day Camps, the Day Camp Counselor shall complete all assigned duties to the best of their abilities, offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees.
