At St Clair Country Club, our commitment is to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our members and their guests. Throughout the year, we utilize five distinct dining rooms for a la carte service. The primary area, known as the Risers, is adjacent to the main bar. Additionally, we have a formal dining room primarily reserved for events, the Card Room, a cozy space located near the front lobby, and our newly renovated bar area we call the Goably Grill, named after the 1968 Masters Champion, Bob Goalby. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality.
Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Back Waiters to join our dynamic team in a fine dining environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fine dining setting, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills and a passion for providing an outstanding dining experience. As a Back Waiter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests feel welcomed, well-cared for, and satisfied with their experience.
Duties
- Building relationships with St. Clair Country Club members is an important aspect of working at the Club as this is often our member's home away from home.
- Appear neat and well-groomed for shift wearing appropriate uniform, which may vary depending on the season
- Preparing reservations, which involves arranging silverware, napkins, bread, butter, menus, and water.
- Support both colleagues and members, this includes but is not limited to clearing tables, refilling waters, restocking ice supply to bars and server stations, and improving the overall service experience of our members.
- Refilling glassware and restocking supplies as needed
- Assisting servers with delivering food and beverages to tables
- Assist with bussing tables and resetting them for the next guests efficiently.
- Uphold all food handling and safety standards as mandated by health regulations.
- Maintaining a clean working environment includes transporting trays to the kitchen, clearing tables, and managing trash runs
Skills
- Previous experience in fine dining environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
- Willingness to help in various areas of the clubhouse and golf course
- Capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a busy setting.
