ST. CLAIR COUNTY TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER
COMPUTER PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNICIAN
POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructional Technician functions as a member of the instructional team under the direction of the Instructor. The Instructional Technician provides support services for students to assist them in overcoming barriers to learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience in Computer Programming.
- Experience in Block-Based, JavaScript, Python, Java and C# programming preferred.
- Knowledge of basic computer science concepts.
- Related Associate’s degree preferred.
- ACT/WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate-Gold Level preferred.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties and tasks of a Computer Programmer, including being able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, pull, push, twist and be able to stand for long periods of time.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and coordinate support services with the Instructor.
- Assist in the development of individual student achievement plans.
- Assist students by reviewing, re-teaching and reinforcing technical and academic content.
- Assist students in the development of personal management skills.
- Assist students in the transition from school-to-work.
- Provide feedback to the Instructor regarding student progress, behavior and special needs.
RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Substitute teacher when the Instructor is absent.
- Assist with recruiting and promotional activities.
- Assist with student management activities.
- Assist with classroom/lab organization and maintenance activities.
- Participate in professional development activities that enhance support services for students.
- Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Staff handbook, Student Handbook and Board of Education Policy Manual.

Position Employment Date: upon board approval, pending background check and drug screening
Length of Contract: 185 Day School Year
Salary: per the Local Instructional Technician’s Contract
