Summary
This position is accountable for performing clinical duties to assist the physician staff in the care of patients within the Hospital Unit.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or ARC-PA program.
- Current licenses to practice as a professional nurse and a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania OR current licensure to practice as a physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Previous experience as a CRNP or PA.
- Prescriptive authority privileges.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other science-related program.

- Performs history and physical examinations as indicated by patient’s condition and orders diagnostic studies indicated by the findings in the history and physical exam.
- Oversees stress testing with physician backup readily available.
- Collaborates with hospital care team to ensure that all current labs, test results, consults, orders, etc. are carried out in a timely manner.
- Develops and institutes a plan of care according to the recognized standards of care and department protocols.
- Identifies the need for consultation with medical, rehabilitative, psychosocial, and other support services, which may lead to referral.
- Assists Hospitalists in the discharging of patients.
- Supports, develops, and participates in educational activities that promote the development of peers and self.
- Follows accepted medical standards for the prescribing of medication and follows policies for the dispensing of sample medications.
