What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasonographer position at St. Clair Hospital?
Summary
According to established policies, procedures and protocols, performs two-, three-, and possibly four-dimensional ultrasound examinations of anatomical structures for use by licensed practitioner in diagnosis of disease, pathology and study of malfunction of organs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program.
- Registration or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S). New graduates must be registered with ARDMS or ARRT within two years of graduation; all other personnel must be registered with ARDMS or ARRT within one year of hire.
- Must meet one of the following (within three years of hire):
- If abdomen (AB) certified, registration as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the ARDMS or registration in Vascular Sonography (VS) by the ARRT
- If vascular (RVT) certified, registration as a Registered Abdomen Technologist (AB) by the ARMDS
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
