Pay
- $17-20 per hour
- Pay rate based on qualifications and experience
- Part-Time, Seasonal, Not Benefit Eligible
Hours of Work
- Hours include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Work anywhere from 25-39 hours weekly!
- Hours may be limited by inclement weather.
Typical Duties Performed
- Assist the Program Coordinator with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of youth program staff.
- Onboard, train, schedule, and constantly evaluate youth program staff.
- Provide daily direction in the delivery of programs and supervision of youth program staff.
- Maintain a positive work environment and set an example of conduct and professionalism for all staff.
- Develop curriculum content, including youth-centered training, team building, instructor mentoring, and individual goals.
- Create and develop partnerships with community organizations and businesses.
- Assist Program Coordinator with the creation and distribution of marketing materials.
- Maintain program equipment inventory and advise Program Coordinator of equipment needs.
- Communicate with youth program staff and parents/guardians of participants through mailings, email, and telephone.
- Participate in the constant assessment of program objectives, including data collection and completing necessary reports.
- Emphasize skills development including safety, fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.
- Educate on and enforce all park and recreation facility rules, regulations, and policies, maintaining a consistent discipline policy for all program staff, activity participants, and parents/guardians.
- Serve as a positive role model to youth program staff, participants, and their parents/guardians.
- Take appropriate actions to ensure the safety of all participants by preventing and responding to emergencies.
- Make decisions in an effective and efficient manner.
- Attend weekly meetings with Program Coordinator.
- Show professionalism in all aspects of the job.
- Maintain confidentiality with co-workers, participants, and the public.
- Open and close the facility safely and securely.
- Assist with other programs as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What is needed to apply for this job?
- Job seekers should be age 18 or older
- Two (2) years prior experience working with youth in an educational or sports setting
- Current CPR-AED/First Aid certifications or will to be certified
- Availability to work a variety of hours, including daytime, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to lift/move 50 pounds
- Ability to complete tasks without supervision
- Leadership, decision-making, and public relations skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Previous supervisory experience is encouraged
