Groundskeeper, Temporary Summer Crew

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Job related experience
- Class B License
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Groundskeeper is a contact point for students, teachers, support staff, colleagues and parents. The Groundskeeper is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the grounds area assigned to them, security, safety, and other functions as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Customer Support
- Assist in the implementation and follow through of grass cutting, athletic field marking and asphalt striping
- Assist building administrators and other support staff in, setting up for these events, and other special tasks as assigned by the Lead Groundskeeper
- Assist in the implementation and follow through on projects assigned in buildings during slow workdays and rain days
- Perform daily cleaning (trash), mowing, and raking leaves around buildings and at athletic facilities including playgrounds
- Performs small landscaping projects as assigned
- Perform application of weed control measures
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The methods of performing the essential job duties require the following physical demands
- Continuous standing and walking
- Frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, sitting, walking, standing, hearing, talking, and seeing
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of equipment, supplies and furniture
- Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
- Frequent pushing and pulling
- Work with various chemicals and follow Material Safety Data Sheet
- Work with personal protective equipment
- Working outside during inclement weather
