The Cardiac MRI Specialist will perform all MRI exams with expertise, adhering to the highest standards set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Candidates must possess either two years of cardiovascular MRI scanning experience or five years of general MRI experience, along with proficiency in operating a Siemens MR Scanner. A strong understanding of human anatomy, disease processes, and effective patient care is essential. Key responsibilities include :

  • Producing high-quality scans across a diverse patient demographic, from neonates to geriatrics.
  • Adhering to established scanning protocols for optimal image capture.
  • Managing MR scanners and related equipment with efficiency.
  • Completing scans in a timely manner while effectively prioritizing tasks.
  • Adapting techniques for trauma and challenging cases to ensure quality results.
  • Understanding disease processes to maximize anatomical visualization.
  • Utilizing power injectors safely and competently.
  • Customizing exams based on patient needs, including age and special requirements.
  • Documenting all relevant information accurately.
  • Ensuring effective communication with Radiologists and Cardiologists.
  • Assisting during procedures as needed and making sure equipment is available.
  • Performing daily, weekly, and monthly quality control tests.
  • Experience Requirements :

  • Three to seven years in cardiovascular MRI scanning or two years specifically in cardiovascular MRI.
  • General MRI experience preferred.
  • Vascular MRI experience is a plus.
  • Education Qualifications :

  • Graduate of an American Medical Association-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Completion of courses in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and cross-sectional anatomy.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Licenses and Certifications :

  • Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with the Texas Medical Board.
  • ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire.
