Job Summary and Qualifications
The Manager ensures high quality patient care through the coordination with facilities to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Monitors and enforces schedule integrity to ensure optimal staffing coverage.
- You will develop care coordination policies and procedures to promote improved quality, safety, and efficiency in care. Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration within and across departments/facilities and ensures staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
- You will manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.
- You will ensure a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care
- You will ensure effective labor management, including position control, scheduling excellence, productivity management, and premium pay utilization. Maintain staffing to ensure appropriate patient care.
- You will conduct division market staffing.
- You will review future facility staffing and implement modifications.
- You will coordinate the movement of facility staff between facilities to meet patient needs.
- You will document staffing activities on electronic tools.
- You will participate on the Facility Labor Management Action Team.
- You will support the Division Chief Nursing Executive and the VP Nursing Operations to analyze staffing and productivity impact.
- You will take the lead on division level clinical operations projects.
- You will collaborate with the Division Manager of the Austin Market Float Pool for appropriate utilization of division level float staff.
- You will communicate with facility house supervisors, managers and directors regarding staffing issues/concerns.
- You will demonstrate courteous, cooperative and fair behavior with house supervisors and staff.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Registered Nurse
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Nursing Informatics, Business Administration
- 5 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in a house supervisor role, with an emphasis on staffing and productivity.
- Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft System Office programs, including work, Excel, Power Point, Access or other database products desired.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
