We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Studies and English Teacher to join our educational team. This role also involves choosing novels, improving writing skills, grammar, spelling, etc.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote student engagement.
- Facilitate classroom discussions that encourage critical thinking and analysis of social studies topics.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Conduct research to stay updated on current events and educational best practices in social studies.
- Provide academic advising to students, helping them navigate their educational paths and interests.
- Collaborate with library services to integrate resources into lesson plans effectively.
- Participate in curriculum development initiatives to enhance the social studies program.
- Support literacy education efforts by incorporating reading and writing activities related to social studies content.
- Mentor students interested in journalism or related fields, fostering their skills in research and communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, ELA or a related field; teaching certification is preferred.
- Strong proofreading skills to ensure clarity and accuracy in lesson materials.
- Excellent research skills to provide relevant content and context for lessons.
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse perspectives.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
