Trinity Regional School in East Northport, NY, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team for the 6th through 8th-grade levels. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about guiding students through the exciting world of life sciences while preparing the 8th grade for a NYS Regents exam.
As a Science Teacher at Trinity Regional School, you will engage students in hands-on learning, help them develop a deep understanding of science concepts, and foster curiosity about the natural world. You will create a positive and supportive classroom environment while promoting scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach 6th-8th grade students, preparing 8th grade for a NYS Regents exam.
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons and assessments.
- Create an interactive classroom environment that encourages student participation and exploration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide necessary support.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to ensure student success and foster a cohesive learning environment.
- Offer extra assistance to students as they prepare for the Regents Exam.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and attendance.
- Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
- Valid or pending New York State Teaching Certification (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of NYS Science standards and curriculum.
- Knowledge of the NYS Science Regents Exams.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students from various backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A passion for science and a commitment to inspiring students in the field of life sciences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to the school community.
