Responsibilities
As our Bid Manager, you will:
- As a partner to sales, drive towards valuable business for ST Engineering iDirect and its customers. You will identify and implement a bid strategy in close cooperation with sales management and ST Engineering iDirect’s senior management
- Shape the creation of quality proposals addressing complex sales opportunities that are either derived through business development activities or follow a more strict governmental or commercial RFx processes
- Operate at the forefront of first-time offerings of ST Engineering iDirect’s newest capabilities or most innovative solutions in line with the company’s vision and strategic roadmap. You rely on the expertise of our product managers, market developers and strategy managers.
- Guide the team in the analysis of commercial, financial, technical/service and legal risks on these first-time offerings. You’ll be supported by our company’s subject-matter experts to transparently advise/present the risk profile of the deal
- Fluently communicate market value and ROI of ST Engineering iDirect’s products and solutions
- Form and lead a transversal pursuit team encompassing a multitude of roles and profiles.
- (potentially) engage with partners outside of ST Engineering iDirect either as subcontractor or as consortiummembers
- Supervise and coordinate the bid process, from admin to technical, service and commercial submission. Remain involved during the subsequent clarifications or negotiations that may arise as part of the process.
- Control scope, risk, budget, timelines and quality of the proposal. Ensure internal alignment on the offered solutions, business case and commercial conditions
- Coordinate the creation of a customer proposal/presentation in collaboration with our Subject-Matter-Experts and will write/develop a selection of chapters yourself.
Qualifications
As a prerequisite to become our Bid Manager you:
- Hold a master degree or equivalent by experience
- Have at least 7 years of relevant experience in either Bid Management, Pre-Sales or program management for medium / large accounts
- Can demonstrate practical experience in (offering) solution sales in a B2B environment. Having performed as such in a software/technology industry is a nice-to-have
- Are fluent in English, other languages are considered an asset.
- Can demonstrate solid understanding of general business acumen
- Are comfortable in presenting (a portion of) the offer to the customer
- Are an effective communicator and coordinator
- Are familiar with collaborating in an international matrix organization
- Can keep a team focused on key priorities and keep efforts efficient under time pressure
- Can show negotiation and contracting skills
- Have pursuit international government business is a nice-to have
