SUMMARY:
As the Manager, Facilities shall be responsible to the Director, Facilities for the overall operations of Facilities Maintenance and Ground Support Equipment (GSE). He/she shall serve as a member of the Management Team, and is primarily responsible for the upkeep, improvement, and continued maintenance of the company premises, and GSE.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for supervision of all San Antionio Aerospace (SAA) facilities staff. Articulate, champion, and support the company values and objectives when interacting with company employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership, subject matter expertise to other company management staff with respect to Facilities and GSE to foster enterprise win-win outcomes.
- Screen and interview candidates for open positions to ensure quality personnel in all departments. Responsible for guidance and mentorship of all Facilities/GSE/Security staff. Responsible, in conjunction with the Director, Facilities, for outlining daily tasks for all disciplines as well as short- and long-term goals for each person/position.
- Ensure all facilities, ground support and other related assets are properly maintained in accordance with SAA and customer published requirements. Ensure that areas under facilities control are kept neat and clean and FOD free.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all SAA external food vendors and break area food suppliers.
- Ensure that the GSE Preventative Maintenance Program provides quality maintenance on equipment as well as monitoring costs.
- Research, develop, plan and implement intermediate and long-range facilities maintenance and facelift projects and goals for the most effective utilization of departmental resources and the advancement of the company's missions.
- Develop, analyze, recommend, and implement policies and procedures for both organization and system improvement.
- Monitor utility costs for abnormalities and pursue availability of rebates, incentives and upgrades available that will reduce costs, as well as increase efficiency and sustainability
- Identify and implement procedures to effectively reduce costs while maintaining consistent support throughout all areas in his/her direct control.
- Routinely evaluate department operations to identify improvements in quality, productivity and employee relations. Work with other functional groups including Continuous Improvement (Cl) team to drive on-going improvements. Implement programs and/or procedures that strive for excellence in quality in line with The Company's Quality Management System.
- Comply with other duties and responsibilities defined in the Company Repair Station & Quality Control Manual or as required by the Director, Facilities, or other SAA executive.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
SUPERVISION: The incumbent normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority. Total end results determine effectiveness of job performance.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management, and the public.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office. Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals; meeting short deadlines; maintain numerous projects simultaneously; employee confrontations and long work hours.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-year college or technical school preferred but not required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 - 3 years general facilities maintenance experience. 3 years minimum supervisory experience.
