SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, develops aircraft maintenance proposals by estimating man hours.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops bids and proposals by researching maintenance packages (i.e., Engineering orders, Airworthiness Directives [AD’s], service bulletins, C&D checks, Standard type Certificates [STC’s], etc., requested by customers) and determining man hours.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of employees, management and customer representatives. Must be able to read maintenance manuals, blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics. Must be able to operate a personal computer, including word processing and database programs. Occasional travel required. Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

SUPERVISION: The incumbent normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority. Total end results determine effectiveness of job performance.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management and the public.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate controlled office but not limited to the office. Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintain numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. FAA Airframe and Power Plant license preferred for knowledge of basic aircraft maintenance.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years actual maintenance planning experience required, preferably within the aviation industry.
