Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Operations Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in our facility, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being, while overseeing and training our technicians doing the same. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and people, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, sometimes stressful environment.
Duties
- Provide daily care for dogs and cats, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
- Oversee and encourage junior kennel techs to ensure superior job performance
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for both animals and staff.
- Must show reliability and be able to arrive to work as scheduled and able to manage overtime
- Must have good time management and show the ability to address concerns and problems with their team
- Other duties as directed
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or handling or kennel management is required and must have some professional experience in a kennel or animal hospital setting
- Strong skills in dog and cat handling
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required (up to 50 pounds).
- Excellent customer service and people skills- Knowledge of basic animal care practices, including feeding, cleaning and grooming and the ability to train others
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
- Ability to manage stressful days and situations positvely
- Drive to motivate a team to save lives and do their best for our pets
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: $13.50 - $16.00 per hour
