What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Site Coordinator position at St Francis Area Schools?
Kids Connection provides before and after school programming for children aged 3 years through 5th grade. The Child Care Site Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, supervising, and guiding site staff, ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities in classrooms, gym spaces, and outdoor settings while overseeing daily site operations.
Your Role Will Include:
- Program Development & Child Engagement: Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children's development while maintaining a structured and engaging environment. Supervise and interact with children in various settings to foster positive peer interactions.
- Staff Supervision & Leadership: Oversee daily staff operations, provide direction, and assist with hiring and performance evaluations.
- Operations & Administration: Manage expenditures, maintain supplies, perform cleaning duties, and utilize Microsoft Office and Google tools for documentation and communication.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations; First Aid & CPR certification preferred. Must be able to lift/move up to 20 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- CDA or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development
- Prior experience supervising staff
- Background in child development, child guidance, cultural dynamics, communication, and activities (especially for preschool and elementary-aged children) is highly desired
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills when working with children and adults
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to program needs
Salary and Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $23.64 - $24.94/hour
- Additional Pay: $0.50/hour split shift differential during school year shifts
- Cell Phone Stipend: Annual $500.00 stipend, paid on the first paycheck of each school year

- 5 floating holidays and 15 sick days
Location & Shift Times:
- St. Francis Elementary School
- 6.0 – 8.0 hours per day between 5:45 AM – 6:00 PM, depending on program needs
- Split shift during the school year; straight shift during summer hours
