About the Role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for financial oversight and strategy for the Saint Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CFO will be responsible for achieving financial stability for the near term, and strategies to advance the mission and vision of the organization for the long term. The CFO will work closely with the executive leadership team to develop, align and implement plans which drive desired goals and outcomes. The CFO leads the finance department and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. The CFO architects strategic and tactical matters relating to near and long-term financial planning, real estate strategies, partnership opportunities, finance improvement initiatives, and securing of new funding.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Partners with the CEO in identifying new business and funding opportunities, scenario planning, risk management, and resolution of significant issues.
- Creates and establishes financial objectives that align with the company's plan for growth and expansion. Communicates objectives and outcomes at all levels. Translates financial information for greater insights and action for coordinated movement.
- Assesses and evaluates financial performance to near- and long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Provides real-time insights and recommendations to influence business improvements for adaptive leadership on both short-term and long-term growth plans.
- Identifies, acquires and implements systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information. Evaluates and supports automating processes and increasing working efficiency.
- Responsible for hiring, orientation, training and evaluation of staff in the Finance Department.
- Evaluates the finance department structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group, as well as mentoring staff for professional and personal growth.
- Provides the President & CEO with financial planning models.
- Works with the leadership team to ensure programmatic success through cost analysis support, and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements. This includes :
1) interpreting legislative and programmatic rules and regulations to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and contractual guidelines,
2) ensuring that all government regulations and requirements are disseminated to appropriate personnel, and monitoring compliance.
