Job Responsibilities:

As a 2nd Grade Lakota Language Teacher at St. Francis Indian School, you will have the unique opportunity to teach young students the beauty and richness of the Lakota language. You will create engaging lesson plans that incorporate storytelling, traditional songs, and cultural activities to immerse students in the language and foster a deep appreciation for their heritage.

As a 2nd Grade Lakota Language Teacher, you will be responsible for assessing student progress, providing feedback and support, and collaborating with colleagues to create a culturally responsive learning environment. You will also have the opportunity to participate in professional development opportunities to continue to grow and refine your teaching skills.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the position of 2nd Grade Lakota Language Teacher will have a deep understanding and appreciation for Lakota culture and language. You should have experience working with young students and a passion for inspiring and empowering the next generation of Lakota leaders.

A degree in education or a related field is required, and fluency in Lakota language is highly preferred. Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to cultural preservation and revitalization are also essential for success in this role.
