What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at St. George Children's Museum?
The St. George Children's Museum is seeking a professional and dedicated custodian to join our team! This part-time position involves 3 evening shifts per week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday), with approximately 6-7 hours per shift. Pay is $13.50 per hour. Shifts are flexible and can be completed anytime during the museum's closed hours. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a safe, clean, orderly, and welcoming environment for museum guests and personnel.

Key Responsiblities:
- Perform comprehensive cleaning duties: sweep, scrub, vacuum, polish, dust, and disinfect museum exhibit areas, restrooms, hallways, and offices.
- Replenish supplies, including soap, and paper products.
- Follow cleaning protocols, and handle chemicals safely according to instructions provided by the Facilities and Exhibits Director.
- Communicate effectively with custodial staff and museum personnel.
- Report larger maintenance issues to the Facilities and Exhibits Director or Museum Director.
Qualifications:
- At least six (6) months of custodial experience, especially in high-traffic facilities.
- Familiarity with cleaning agents, including solvents, disinfectants and other products.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on painting cleanliness in child-centered spaces.
- Basic computer, reading, and verbal communication skills for communication with other staff.
Education & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasional exposure to dust and frequent exposure to cleaning solutions.
