Salary: Starting at $74,880 annually (based on verifiable experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Job Duties:
The Quality Nurse Manager - RN is responsible for the direction and supervision of the LPNs and CNAs to ensure the provisions of quality care and health services. This position directly oversees the healthcare staff through on-going education, direction, coaching, and mentoring. The Quality Nurse Manager - RN is also responsible for the management of the following programs to include wound care, restorative, in-service coordination, infection control, and serves as the Health Services Supervisor (HSS) for evening and after-hours on-call rotations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Registered Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing with comparable experience
- Current Registered Nursing license in this state
- 3-5 years' experience in a healthcare organization; preferably in the long-term care setting
- Supervisory experience
- Wound care and infection control experience
- Proficient computer skills and ability to learn and utilize a host of software programs
- WOCN Certified
- Infection Prevention Certification preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Work Hours:
- Requires flexibility to work evenings, days, and weekend hours

- MAY BE DESIGNATED ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL IN THE EVENT OF EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, INCLUDING HURRICANES, EVACUATION, FIRE, FLOOD, ETC., AND BE REQUIRED TO REMAIN ON CAMPUS FOR THE DURATION OF THE EMERGENCY.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the wound care, restorative, in-service coordination, and infection control programs
- Supervises nursing staff during evening shifts and serves as the Charge Nurse/HSS when required
- Completes new admissions assessments and supervises the new admission process with admitting nurse
- Completes weekly and PRN assessments of wounds, documents findings in software programs, and maintains weekly wound log
- Monitors wound care treatments administered by nursing staff to ensure they are completed as ordered.
- Provides coaching and supervisory oversight to nursing team regarding wound care and infection control
- In the absence of the nursing staff, performs nursing duties to ensure quality standards and resident care is followed through as ordered
- Provides direct and indirect nursing care for residents of the Health Care Center during his/her shift and responds appropriately to residents in the event of an illness, injury, or emergency
- Administers the Hepatitis B and necessary vaccinations to staff and residents
- Revises the plan of care as indicated by the residents response to treatment and evaluates overall plan for effectiveness; consults with attending physician to provide quality care
- Communicates resident status accurately, including communication with families, and facilitates physician examination and treatment
- Requisitions and facilitates diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician, and in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
- Reviews resident charts and MARs for accuracy and completion
- Communicates and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team members to promote quality care and services; communicates changes or new orders appropriately
- Obtains, prepares and administers medications, including injectable and intravenous medications, as ordered by the physician and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Reviews medication records for completion and accuracy of transcription and administration
- Ensures that narcotic records are accurate for each shift. Notifies the DON and/or Administrator of all drug and narcotic discrepancies noted
- Disposes of drugs and narcotics as required by state and federal regulations and policies
- Completes and files forms/charts from admission through discharge in accordance with state and federal regulations and policies
- Accurately documents physician’s orders, completes nurse’s notes, and promptly documents resident incidents in accordance with regulations and policies
- Reports all discrepancies noted in physician orders, charting, or medication/treatment administration to DON and/or Administrator
- Provides on-going education and training to staff through on-the job mentoring and in-servicing
Leadership and Supervision
- Provides effective supervision, motivation and leadership to staff
- Recognizes training needs and provides effective training to staff as needed or directed
- Applies effective coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed to ensure staff accountability
- May participate in the interview process for hiring new departmental staff
- Ensures resident safety, security and rights at all times
- Submits required paperwork timely to HR for all employee-related matters
- Assists in development of departmental policies and procedures
- Facilitates, attends, and participates in various departmental and management meetings as required
- Participates in continuing education opportunities for personal growth and development
Physical Requirements: Ability to assist with resident mobility and transfers. Required extended standing and or walking. Frequent bending and stooping.
