Worship Arts AV Coordinator

Position Summary
The Worship Arts AV Coordinator works to assist in the campus-wide ministry needs related to sound, projection, lighting, and video production. The position serves under the direction of the Director of Worship Arts. The role has specific focus to support Sunday morning worship services. The coordinator will be responsible for recruiting and leading teams of volunteers to assist in accomplishing ministry objectives. These efforts will be in line to support the strategic goals of the church to be a church that is 100% fully and completely connected to God, to each other, and to the community and world.
Required Functions
- Work alongside the Director of Worship Arts to support the presentation of all worship services in main sanctuary by overseeing preparation of each tech component in worship including sound, projection, lighting, video, and production, as well as livestream/podcast editing/posting, to ensure proper set-up, operation, tear down, and equipment maintenance.
- Oversee and provide AV support to media presentation and production equipment throughout campus, such as Children’s gathering room, Bldg. 3 main room, and Bldg. 4 and portable A/V equipment used for outreach events.
- Work alongside Director of Worship Arts, Director of Fellowship & Special Connections, and other Collaborative Teams to maintain a ministry to live-stream worship services and other presentation offerings.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly ministry team meetings for worship planning needs, as well as staff retreats, etc.
- Prepare for and be present at weekly evening rehearsals and weekend services for technical support, troubleshooting, setting & clearing stage.
- Manage and assist with the production of all tech needs related to church-wide outreach events.
- Identify, recruit, motivate, develop, and disciple church technical arts volunteers in the areas of: Sound, Projection, Lighting, and Video.
- Schedule volunteers and service planning resources in planning center software.
- Develop and manage relationships with appropriate outside vendors.
- Assist with set design as needed, preparing/organizing cabling/lines and ensuring all equipment is in working, efficient order.
- Responsible for routine general AV maintenance and scheduling.
Other Responsibilities
- Works with Director of Worship Arts and ministry department leaders to determine on- going and spontaneous technical needs.
- Occasionally works with other ministry leads to provide sound, projection & lighting for special events & church-wide functions.
- Other duties as assigned by Worship and Arts Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least three to five years work experience in technical arts/AV preferred, primarily in sound, projection, video & lighting.
- Associates degree or above preferred.
- Project management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communications skills, flexibility, ability, and tact to work with a variety of situations and people (including volunteers) to accomplish tasks.
- Proficient in production software (ProPresenter, Mac OS, Freestyler, Logic ProX, etc)
- Proficient in common office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.)
- A familiarity with St. James and experience working in the church setting is highly desired.
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include prolonged sitting and prolonged viewing of computer monitor and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
