Job Description:
The Food Preparation Specialist plays a vital role in the culinary team at ST. JAMES WINERY, Inc. This position is responsible for preparing all menu items according to standard recipes and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of fry cooking and accepted standards of sanitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Preparation: Prepare all foods in accordance with standard recipes and as specified by guests.
- Inventory Control: Check and control the proper storage of product and portion control.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including refrigeration, storage, and working areas.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is clean and in proper working condition.
- Supply Requisitioning: Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Fundamental Knowledge: Good working knowledge of fry cooking and accepted standards of sanitation.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, and portion sizes. Ability to read, write, and understand the English language. Sufficient manual dexterity, ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry up to 150 pounds, and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
