Job Summary:
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of IT assets throughout their lifecycle. This includes planning, acquisition, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and disposal of hardware, software, and other IT-related resources. The goal is to optimize asset utilization, reduce costs, ensure compliance, and mitigate risks associated with IT assets.
Responsibilities:
- Asset Inventory and Management
- Implement IT asset management software solutions
- Develop and implement asset tagging systems for easy identification and tracking
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses and subscriptions
- Inventory connectivity/telecommunications circuits and their terms
- Regularly update and reconcile the asset inventory to ensure accuracy
- Trac k asset lifecycle stages from procurement to disposal
- Create and generate reports on IT asset utilization and costs
- Asset Procurement and Deployment
- Work with procurement teams to purchase IT assets
- Coordinate with IT teams and other departments to deploy new assets and retire old ones up to and including asset relocation
- Asset Utilization and Optimization
- Monitor asset utilization rates and identify opportunities for optimization
- Implement strategies to maximize asset utilization and minimize idle resources
- Software License Management
- Manage software licenses to ensure compliance and avoid potential legal issues
- Track license expirations and renewals
- Optimize software license usage to reduce costs
- Provide projections on the future needs of the business
- Asset Disposal and Retirement
- Develop and implement secure asset disposal procedures
- Manage IT asset retirement processes, ensuring data security and proper wipe down of storage devices
- Retirement and proper disposal of end-of-life equipment on a regular basis
- Track IT asset-related expenses, including procurement, maintenance, and disposal costs
- Risk Management
- ???????Identify and mitigate IT asset-related risks, such as security breaches and unauthorized access
- Implement security measures to protect IT assets
- Assist with disaster recovery planning for IT assets
- Compliance
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular audits to assess compliance
- Create and maintain IT asset management policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required, ideally in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in IT asset management
- IT Asset Management certification (CITAM, CHAMP, CSAM, etc.) or ability to attain within 18 months of hire date
- Experience working with IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools and methodologies
- Strong understanding of IT asset management frameworks and best practices
- Data entry and analysis experience
- Proficiency in IT asset management tools and database software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
