Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and enhancing students' educational experiences. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, implementing curriculum standards, and providing individualized support to students. The School Teacher will play a vital role in shaping the academic, social, and faith-based growth we pride in our LCMS faith-based school.
This role is designed to serve students in grades 5-8 in possible subject areas such as Math, Social Studies, History, and possibly physical education. We have a strong need for a possible athletic director to also oversee our athletics programs for grades 3-8 (basketball, softball, volleyball, and soccer).
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Deliver engaging instructional activities that promote critical thinking and creativity among students.
- Assess student progress through various evaluation methods, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement effective curriculum development strategies.
- Provide tutoring and additional support for students who require extra assistance in their studies.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to learning, including library services for resource accessibility.
- Participate in education administration tasks, including record keeping, reporting, and parent-teacher communication.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices, including Montessori methods if applicable.
Skills
- Strong lesson planning skills with the ability to create tailored educational experiences for students.
- Experience working with students of varying ages and backgrounds, demonstrating adaptability in teaching methods.
- Proficient proofreading skills for reviewing educational materials and student assignments.
- Ability to contribute to curriculum development initiatives that promote holistic student growth.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Willingness and motivation to foster one's faith and collaborate with our untied ministry to support our school, childcare, and church.
