Position Overview and Responsibilities
In consultation with the Director of Wellness and wellness team members, plan, implement and assess strategic initiatives and partnerships to further the concept of wellness across the St. John’s Prep campus.
Collaborate with the wellness team to plan and implement a comprehensive, campus wide initiative promoting all dimensions of wellness.
Train and supervise staff who work in strength and conditioning programs.
Collaborate with wellness program and facilities coordinators and Facilities Department to ensure maintenance of fitness spaces and equipment/resources.
Develop, implement, and oversee strength and conditioning programs for students, faculty and staff.
Teach fitness related wellness/physical education activity courses, as needed.
Collaborate with the department of athletics and coaches to design in-season and out of season strength and conditioning programs.
Partner with the department of athletics to provide education for coaches, as needed.
Participate in the development of the annual operating budget.
Develop and maintain records of operational facility usage; monitor and maintain inventories of equipment and supplies.
Engage in other areas of focus as designated by the Director of Wellness and/or Principal/Associate Head of School.

Education and Experience
Master’s degree in exercise science, coaching, or physical education-related fields required.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and/or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) credentials.
American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
Physical Requirements:
Standing/sitting for long periods of time.
Bending, lifting, pushing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stooping.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to reach at and above shoulder height to access higher areas of equipment, etc.
Must be capable of adapting to frequent changes in position throughout the workday.
Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, and using computer keyboard, educational tools, play equipment, and perform first aid and CPR.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
