The responsibilities of this position include managing and leading projects involving the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system eClinicalWorks. as well as troubleshooting issues, driving system improvements and performing optimization tasks to ensure a healthy and operational mission critical system. A commitment to excellence and a strong drive to achieve is instrumental in this role. As a Health IT Support Specialist, you will work closely with providers, clinical staff and management across all dimes to ensure that our software system and technologies meet the demands and enhance physician productivity and patient experience needs. You play a key role in researching and resolving workflow and software problems as part of daily operational support Plans, reviews and collaborates projects and tasks with the Health IT and IT teams and is able to perform independently where necessary. This role requires effective communication and collaboration to sustain the synergy within the Health IT team - vital to a high-performance team. This is a highly visible role where you will be working with a diversity of employees and clients (customers) within a dynamic and challenging environment.

Qualifications/Licensure:
Education:
- Master's degree preferred, but an equivalent combination of certifications, education and experience will be considered. eClinicalWorks or other similar electronic health record super-user certification, training or designation preferred.
Experience:
- Must be able to cope in a "fast pace" environment
- Must have a minimum of two years Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience, preferably with eCW (eClinicalWorks)
- PMS- Practice Management System (Preferred)
- Knowledge of LOINC codes, CPT codes and/or lab processes, in depth preferred
- Knowledge of front and back-office operations and functions of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems including patient intake, appointment scheduling, provider charting, labs, referrals and others required.
- Employees are responsible for maintaining education as required by job function.
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving Electronic Health Records (EHR) issues. while managing projects (multi-tasking) in a fast paced, dynamic working environment required.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on assigned key Health IT directives required.
- Understanding of general HIPAA privacy (employee and customer) is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, close loops and collaborate with management (including upper management) and other staff, which include a spectrum of diverse customers is required.
- Effectiveness of working with various departments to achieve departmental and organizational goals is required.
- Close attention to detail is required.
- Experience managing major Electronic Health Records (EHR) projects from design, testing to implementation and post-completion is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Power Point is preferred.
- Experience with change management, workflow documentation and other administrative functions is preferred.
- Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic or doctor's office is preferred.
- Previous experience working for a FQHC is preferred.
- Understanding of meeting measures and other federal/state incentivized programs is preferred.
- Ability to design and develop solutions including data management within eCW while working closely with vendors and stakeholders for successful implementation.
- Experience with eCW maintenance and administration, keeping the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system updated, organized and secure.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of LOINC codes, CPT codes, lab mapping and processes
- Build and manage relationships with our Super Users, Champions, Care Coordinators and Medical Leadership Team to understand and improve clinical workflows.
- Facilitate development of system builds to standardize delivery of care.
- Participate in troubleshooting tasks and projects involving labs, Health Information Exchanges (HIE), immunization registries and others.
- Technical support for Scribe, HEDIS and UDS reporting, Care Gap Analysis, Population Health management, Chronic Care management, HCC, RAF modules, and others when implemented.
- Develop, prepare, and lead training sessions in a virtual environment, group and one-on-one settings.
- Create and maintain learning curriculum for new staff and develop ongoing educational content for existing staff to maximize system use.
- Work with business and operations leadership to coordinate and execute communications around technology and workflow changes.
- Contribute to the development of e-learnings, quick tips, How To's and other ‘Just in Time' training content.
- Document and communicate feedback, questions, and enhancement requests with others on the SJCH IT department and operation staff.
- Provide on-site elbow to elbow support to new providers and clinical staff.
- Escalate risks and issues to the project sponsor and/or the external vendor.
- Assist in identification of opportunities for process and quality improvement both internally to eCW and in patient flow or clinic operations.
- Attend training and eCW conferences and all other applicable training as directed by supervisor.
- Attend meetings as required for updates and as directed by supervisor.
- Perform testing for new implementations, patches and upgrades and as directed by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
