The Training Specialist is a highly responsible civilian position accountable for the maintenance and integrity of SJSO training records. This position assists SJSO training staff to facilitate, implement and document all agency training. This position serves as the liaison with federal / state / local law enforcement stakeholder agencies and other institutions of higher learning. In addition, the Training Specialist is responsible for clerical / office duties related to training, such as data entry, scanning, filing updating training schedules, and attendance records.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Associates Degree preferred
- Type 25 WPM accurately
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Highly Computer literate
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Intermediate knowledge of general office equipment
Duties
Ensure, maintain, and audit compliance with mandatory certification retraining requirements for all sworn employeesFacilitate informal or collaborative learning programsAct as a liaison and maintain relationships with federal / state / local law enforcement stakeholder agencies and other institutions of higher learningAssist in the planning, facilitation, execution, and delivery of training coursesExecute the logistical components of scheduling and supporting instructorsEstablish and maintain training files in digital formatResearch and Analyze training issues and recommend solutionsCompile / input / submit mandatory retraining documentation to state regulatory agencyMaintain / update training files for in-house / in-service classes / coursesMaintain configured course listing and update as requiredObtain State Certifications for all advanced training courses required for Salary Incentive.Assist with all agency in-service trainingProcess reservation requests for internal and external facilitiesPrepare and distribute annual in-service training scheduleMaintain all class attendance recordsResearch and complete detailed information requests as neededReceive and respond to correspondencePerform administrative / clerical functionsEnsure training supplies are ordered as necessaryOther duties as assignedJob Controls and Complexities
