General Information as to Grounds Crew
The position is for a temporary, seasonal grounds crew.
This position is a summer only position. The work is that of a general labor, doing all aspects of cemetery care and maintenance, taking direction from and answering to, the Caretaker
The duties and responsibilities of the Employee shall include:
- Line Trimming
- Tree Trimming
- Raking
- Lifting heavy objects regularly (50 lbs. or more)
- Operate Air hammer/tamper
- Maintain flower beds
- General landscape work
- Assist in the burial process
- Other duties as required
- Install Markers and Monuments
The work is outdoors and employees must have their own equipment and clothing for the job. Typical items that are needed (but not limited to): Ear Protection; Safety Glasses; Steel-Toe Boots; Work Gloves; Rain Gear, etc.
Summary
As a Seasonal Grounds Crew member, you will be integral to maintaining the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces. Reporting to the Grounds Supervisor, you will utilize your core skills in lawn care, landscaping, and groundskeeping to ensure our facilities are well-kept. Your mechanical knowledge will enhance your ability to operate various tools and equipment efficiently. Additionally, your relevant skills in tree care, irrigation, and gardening will contribute to the overall health of our landscapes. - High school or equivalent (Preferred)
