RN Trainer and Medical Coordinator

Job Summary:
The RN Clinical Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Waiver Residential Programs and in collaboration with Community Home Managers to ensure the highest quality of care and successful daily operations across two clusters of Community Homes. Each cluster consists of three homes with four residents per home, totaling 24 clients. The coordinator is responsible for providing and overseeing the medical care of Community Home residents, ensuring accurate documentation, thorough training and certification of staff, and compliance with St. Joseph Home’s policies and procedures. This will be accomplished through direct involvement or oversight of all staff. The role also requires participating in the weekend on-call rotation in collaboration with SJH Community Respite.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 18 months of full-time experience as a RN
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school and registered with the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
- Must complete and maintain DODD certification to be a RN Trainer.
- Experience in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) is required.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with various staff levels as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver's license with fewer than 6 points.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Must be calm under pressure and capable of using good judgment in emergency situations.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for nurses and direct support professionals.
- Good attendance and punctuality are essential.
Certification Requirements:
- Valid RN license with the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 18 months of full-time/part-time equivalent practice as a registered nurse.
- Experience in caring for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Proficiency with computer systems for entering data into medication administration databases, and managing email communications.
- Must complete a Registered Nurse train-the-trainer program authorized by the Ohio Board of Nursing within the first 90 days of employment.
