Position Summary

The Insurance Verification Representative is responsible for the efficient and accurate verification of insurance eligibility. They will provide the Cardiology service line assistance with back office functions required to obtain and validate correct insurance information. They will input insurance authorizations efficiently and correctly. The Insurance Verification Representative will collaborate with front desk staff and new patient coordinators inside of the clinics and the Central Billing Office to maintain accountability of insurance eligibility throughout the Cardiology service line.

Core Job Functions
- Accurately verifies insurance coverage using all available resources. Corrects insurance mnemonic, policy number, etc. when needed. Documents verification in system.
- Utilizes reports to assist with account identification; Identifies exceptions and reports to appropriate department
- Meets department production standards. Meets department quality standards
- Obtains insurance verification and authorization for visits. Enters coordination notes and verifies other's notes are accurately documented. Works with insurance companies, branches, intake personnel and others as required to collect and manage needed information.
