Position Summary

Works with Supply Distribution Manager and Departmental Management to organize order and supply par stock areas. Responsible to receive items in the MMIS system and assure that patient equipment is clean and available to the Nursing staff. This position is extremely fast paced, requires a high level of responsibility, exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Creates a customer focused environment which supports numerous departments of the hospital. Knowledgable of the hospital departments and the supplies they need stocked. Provides substitutions for floors experiencing shortages of stock items. Well-versed in item details and determining what the clinical departments need. Effectively communicates details to other co-workers, department leaders, and customers within the hospital. Works cohesively with one another to complete duties promptly and resolve any issues effectively.

Replenishs all crash carts from the entire hospital; to include both pediatric (PALS) carts and adult (crash) carts. Sanitizes the carts, checks and lists product expiration dates, checks item quantities and makes the proper replenishments, in a timely manner so that the cart can be returned to service. Once complete, delivers the carts to the Pharmacy, so that pharmaceuticals can then be replenished.

Uses handheld technology to inventory and to create purchase orders for all par stock areas. Reconciles all orders by checking for correct pricing, correct quantity, and correct product received. Stock levels are consistently and effectively maintained. Ensures all par areas are in compiance with The Joint Commission standards. This includes checking for and removing expired, recalled, and damaged items.

Maintains the department according to The Joint Commission standards and fire code. Ensures pallets of product are not a hazard, and that all pallets are contained outside of the department. Maintains equipment necesary for patient care. Maintains inventory levels in the Dispensing department to ensure that all charges and receipts are accurate. Also that all transactions correlate with the financial information running through the General Ledger associated to department charges and inventory asset correction.

Unloads supply truck daily and stage product appropriately for effective distribution. This entails physical demands such as lifting products up to 40lbs, using electric and manual pallet jacks, and hand-trucks. Staging must be done in order of department "ship to" locations. Since we are a Just-in-Time delivery process, this must be completed from start to finish within 24 hours.
