Job Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for assisting in the management and accuracy of inventory levels. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels, this role involves conducting regular audits, reconciling discrepancies, and optimizing inventory procedures. The Inventory Control Specialist collaborates closely with various departments to support operational needs, minimize stock variances, and contribute to overall organizational success through effective inventory management practices.
Duties and Responsibilities.
- Assist with tracking and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Identify and report discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
- Enter inventory data into management systems and update records as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, and adjustments.
- Assist in managing stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Monitor inventory turnover and assist in managing reorder points and stock levels.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing inventory for quality and accuracy.
- Report and investigate issues related to damaged or incorrect items.
- Work with warehouse and procurement teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Assist with the implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Prepare and assist in generating inventory reports and analysis.
- Provide support in the preparation of inventory data for audits and reviews.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or management
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of inventory management processes and systems.
- Ability to lift and move inventory items as needed.
- Willingness to perform physical tasks and work in a warehouse environment.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory control or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic principles.
Working conditions
- Working conditions may include working outside of a climate-controlled environment for long periods of time.
- PPE is required while on production floors.
Physical requirements
Walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
